Residential proxies in Japan
Japan is a mature market that keeps to itself: many Japanese sites show foreign visitors a reduced English version or block them, and search is split between Google and Yahoo! Japan.
What people check from Japanese IPs
- Prices on Rakuten, Amazon Japan and Yahoo! Shopping, and second-hand listings on Mercari.
- Google and Yahoo! Japan results, which use different ads and partly different rankings.
- Price comparison on Kakaku, a common reference for electronics.
Local notes
Send Accept-Language: ja-JP and use the Tokyo time zone. Japanese pages may use Shift_JIS or EUC-JP rather than UTF-8 on older sites, so decode by the declared charset. Tokyo and Osaka cover the largest audiences; prefectures matter mostly for local services and store availability.
Connect
Add this option to the proxy username: -country-JP. The first line below gets a new IP on every request; the second keeps one IP for up to 10 minutes.
