Proxies for price monitoring
Online prices, stock and delivery options often depend on the shopper's country or city. Monitoring them from one office address shows you one market.
What this is for
- Watching public prices of your own and competing products by market.
- Checking that your resellers display the right price and stock in each region.
- Finding where a product is listed as available and where it is not.
How to set it up
Run one job per market and set the country in the proxy username, for example -country-FR. Where the price depends on the city, add state and city codes from the dashboard. If a store needs a selected region or a cart to show a price, keep those requests in a sticky session.
Pacing
Daily checks of the pages that matter usually tell you more than constant polling of everything, and cost less. Keep to public pages and follow the site's terms.
Budgeting
Traffic is prepaid and has no expiry date, so a monitoring job can run down one plan for as long as it lasts. Use the bandwidth calculator with your page size and product count, then compare against current prices. The dashboard shows hourly usage and can email you when traffic is low.
